Ramada Reviews

“I had the opportunity to stay at the Ramada in Chicago on St. Pats weekend, I had a food festival I was attending to help my friend with her Pine-Nut business, so this was a working weekend. The staff of this Inn were outstanding in every-way, but there was one individual that twinkled like the brightest diamond during my stay. His name is John, he is the Inn’s van driver. He went out of his way to meet us on our schedule. During our drive he told fascinating stories about the history of Chicago, this being my first trip to this wonderful city, along with my other two companions, we were held captive by his vivid descriptions, and swept away. I being a writer by trade just know there is a story here somewhere, and I suggest you seek out this comfortable Inn, and then take a ride with this fine gentleman named John, you too will be captivated as he will not only take you to your physical destination but also fill your mind with fanciful imagery.”

“I have stayed at this property three times. Each has been very pleasant, esp. because of the staff. Everyone smiles and is friendly and helpful. My first trip was with my dogs and it is a great place for dogs. There is ample green area and a short walk down to 55th St gets you to the lake. On my other two trips I have stayed in the main hotel. The rooms are comfortable if not lavish. They are clean. Beds are perfect for me. Location is ideal as it is the only regular hotel within walking distance of UofC. But the people make the place.”

“The hotel is right infront of Michigan lake and offers a very good view. The location is ideal for travelers as it offers free parking and easy to locate. They also have free shuttle to downtown at scheduled intervals and so connectivity is to downtown is good. The train station is also 5 blocks away and you can easily walk to 43rd street station from the hotel. The rooms were clean and spacious. The lounge is not very attractive but overall facilities are good at the price they offer. The internet connectivity was good in rooms and it was free so I enjoyed it.”

“I spent the last two weeks at Ramada Inn for professional development training as a teacher in Chicago. I was treated with the utmost respect and courtesy from our hostess, Jessie Coffey and Victoria Coats. These two employees made partonizing the resturant an enjoyable experience. The food was great, especially the mashed potatoes. Again, thanks, Jessie and Victoria.”

“We really enjoyed our stay at Ramada, location was great and it was a HUGE plus to have a complimentary shuttle ride into the downtown area (we spent $35 dollars in parking the day before). The shuttle driver dropped us off at the steps of the art institute, and picked us up later as well. Free parking was also a plus. The room was basic but clean with a nice open layout. Great view of the pool. Only thing missing is a fridge and microwave.”

“This is the closest hotel to University of Chicago–and the price was right. My son and I thought the room was fine! The beds were comfortable, the room was clean, the air conditioning worked (and muffled road noise), the water pressure was good and the bathtub drained, and the wi-fi worked. Really that is all I’m looking for in a one-night hotel stay. Oh and the front desk people were friendly and efficient.”

“I visited Chicago with my 5 and 7 year old and stayed at Ramada, Lake shore. The location is great with free parking was a bonus. The staff is very professional and knowledgeable. The manager took a few minutes to find out was everything okay with our stay. In fact, She recommended a few places where my kid had a amazing time.”

“Our purpose on our recent trip to Chicago was to be near the U of Chicago but I almost didn t book this hotel based on old photos and reviews. It was an easy drive or walk from this hotel to just about anywhere you need ot go in Hyde Park. The room was clean, staff was very friendly and helpful, bathroom was clean, towels provided as needed, hot water for shower was hot and plentiful. The walls are a bit thin and you can hear the shower above you when you are in the bathroom. You can hear traffic on Lakeshore Drive but it wasn t loud enough to keep us awake. We had a beautiful lake view and took a nice walk along the lakeshore which was an easy walk to get to the lake access bridge from the Ramada. We ate breakfast and had a nightcap at the Lakeshore Cafe dining room and bar where the food was good and the people were friendly. We did not use the pool but it looked refurbished and refreshing. We were driven downtown by very accommodating Ramada Inn shuttle service. All in all, a very good value.”
